Dispute between distillery and MD to enter mediation
9 June 2020
A dispute between the MD of Co. Louth-based Listoke Distillery and the company will go to mediation, the High Court has heard.
As part of the agreement to enter mediation, the suspension of MD and co-founder of the company Bronagh Conlon has been lifted, The Irish Times reports.
Bronagh Conlon brought the case to the High Court to challenge her purported suspension on 22 May.
Counsel said that if mediation does not resolve issues, the parties will return to court later this month. The case was subsequently adjourned.
Listoke has garnered praise for its 1777 Gin within the industry, with The Gin Guide describing it thus: “The gin has personality, impressive depth of flavour and a complexity that reveals piney juniper, citrus and herbaceous notes, and a lingering finish with a touch of spice.”
The distillery is currently producing hand sanitizer at 72% alcohol (strong enough to kill the virus) of which it is selling 250ml bottles for €5 online, stating that the cost is to cover production costs only.
