The Junk Kouture final, sponsored by Eurospar supermarkets, takes place today at the RDS where 60 finalists will compete for the opportunity to represent Ireland at the World Final in Monaco.

Representing Ireland

The top ten from tomorrow night’s Ireland final will go on to represent Ireland against 60 finalists from around the globe who will be unveiling their ingenious, eco-friendly couture creations in a dazzling and high-energy showcase, all with the hope of being crowned World Designer of the Year.

Eurospar has been sponsoring Junk Kouture since 2023 and, as part of that sponsorship, has donated six free tickets to all the schools in today’s Ireland final.

Bespoke design

Eurospar has also commissioned two alumni to create bespoke designs which will be modelled on the night.

One of the designs is made with old materials from Eurospar’s official charity partner, National Breast Cancer Research Institute Ireland (NBCRI) and the second is inspired from old Eurospar packaging and uniforms.

The top four designs from Eurospar’s nationwide Classroom Kouture competition will also be on display tomorrow night with the primary school students behind these designs also in attendance.
