Independent self-regulatory body, the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI), has appointed Derek Doyle to its Complaints Committee.
The Complaints Committee is a completely independent arm of the ASAI and is responsible for considering and adjudicating complaints submitted by the public, by an organisation, by a government department, or any other person or body. The Committee is made up of a range of experts from the advertising, media, education, consumer and marketing sectors.
With almost 30 years’ experience in the advertising and production industry, on both the agency and post-production sides of the business, Derek Doyle is currently the executive production director of Boys + Girls. Previously, he spent eight years as the head of broadcast/AV production in Ogilvy & Mather.
As a result, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the Complaints Committee in areas including advertising, content production and commercial and financial management.
Doyle is a graduate of both Trinity College Dublin and Technological University Dublin and is passionate about working at the interface of creative and commerce.
“We’re delighted to welcome Derek to his new role at the Complaints Committee,” said Orla Twomey, chief executive of the ASAI. “He brings a wealth of experience and industry insights from his career to date and illustrates the high calibre of talent contributing to the ASAI’s board. On behalf of myself, our chairman Sean O’Meara, and the ASAI executive, we would like to wish Derek every success in his new role within the organisation.”
