RTÉ 2FM broadcaster Lottie Ryan has been announced as Avonmore Slimline Milk’s ambassador in support of the Breast Cancer Ireland Great Pink Run 2016. The event, now in its sixth year, takes place in Dublin’s Phoenix Park this coming Saturday, 27 August.
This year marks the second occasion the event has been sponsored by Avonmore Slimline Milk. Thousands of entrants are expected for the two runs, one a timed 10km event, the other a 5km fun run. All funds will go to Breast Cancer Ireland’s pioneering research and awareness programmes nationally.
“I’m really looking forward to be involved,” Ryan said, “and I hope I can get others to sign up to the Great Pink Run. I’m not marathon runner, but no matter what happens – run, walk or crawl – I’ll be there on the day in support of a great cause.”
The Breast Cancer Ireland Great Pink Run 2016 will be led by athletics legend Sonia O’Sullivan.
“The Great Pink Run, is a vibrant and exciting event aimed at getting people out and exercising for a very worthy cause and we are delighted to have Lottie Ryan on board to heighten awareness and encourage more people to get involved,” said Michael Buckley, brand manager, Avonmore. “Slimline Milk’s natural health credentials together with the added Iron and vitamin C not to mention the colour co-ordination with the event make it a great fit and we are excited about our second year as lead sponsor”.
