It’s a triple threat of big news for the Happy Pear this week, as no fewer than six of the health food sensation’s vegan products will be available in Waitrose stores across the UK from next month. Additionally, it is launching two new Granola products here this week and its latest cookbook has already been certified as as a number one bestseller.
Expansion into the UK has been a key strategic goal for the business, which now employs around 170 people across four locations including its flagship café in Greystones and multi-award-winning café at the Round Tower, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
The Happy Pear range of vegan products will help Waitrose ensure it’s well-placed to meet the increased UK customer demand for great-quality, meat-free meals, and options suitable for the whole family.
“We are chuffed to be entering the UK market with our products,” said the brothers who founded the business, “and really honoured to be working with Waitrose to expand its vegan range. Our great-tasting, vegan products are made from natural ingredients and are great for all lifestyles and those wanting to eat more veg.
“We have been working with Waitrose since 2016, creating vegan recipe videos and on customer events, and this is a great, growing partnership, which supports our mission to help people live healthier and happier lives.”
The range includes (all suitable for vegans):
- The Happy Pear Sundried Tomato Pesto
- The Happy Pear Lovely Basil Pesto
- The Happy Pear Happy Hummus
- The Happy Pear Sweet Beet Hummus
- The Happy Pear Shepherdless Pie
- The Happy Pear Chickpea Curry
Also, this week, to complement its hugely popular Cool Jim’s Granola, The Happy Pear is launching two new Granola flavours, Dave’s Cocoa Crunch (350g), and Steve’s Dreamy Granola (350g), with coconut and raspberries. Both Granolas will be available from SuperValu and independent foodie stores nationwide from 16 May.
Meanwhile, Dave and Steve’s third cookbook – Recipes for Happiness – went straight to a number one bestseller in Ireland and it is in the top ten in the hardback non-fiction bestseller list in the UK at number eight. The new book is packed with over 100 delicious and easy vegan recipes for every day cooking for the whole family, tips for a healthy lifestyle, and a two-week health reboot plan.
