BWG Foods has announced that it is proud to support the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF).

BWG Foods noted that its team are always proud to support the efforts of the IGBF and the families who avail of its services.

The charity assists up to 200 families at any one time and contributes approximately €500,000 annually in support.

The IGBF is supported by the leading companies in the retail, wholesale, food and drink and services industries.

Leadership roles

A spokesperson for BWG Foods said that the group is “deeply passionate about its support of the charity’s ongoing work and is very proud that so many of its employees have held esteemed leadership roles within the charity.”

Frances Higgins, head of promotions BWG, is currently the IGBF chairperson.

Simon Marriott, chief operations officer of BWG was recently announced as the new IGBF president of appeals.

Christmas luncheon

Events like the annual Christmas luncheon are crucial to ensuring the IGBF have sufficient funds to continue delivering critical services to beneficiaries and BWG Foods was delighted to contribute on the day, the company noted.

The annual event is always a highlight of the Christmas calendar.

This year’s IGBF Christmas Lunch at the Clayton Hotel is the final fundraising event of the year and everyone in BWG Foods said that it is looking forward to supporting IGBF events in 2025.
