The annual change in Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco costs reflects higher prices for tobacco products

The Revenue Commissioners seized 43,498 litres of alcohol to the value of €600,000 in 2010 through 275 different instances and detected 330 excise licence offences during the 12-month period, according to the Headline Results, published in advance of the Revenue Commissioners Annual Report, due out soon.

Revenue figures for 2009 saw 392 seizures of alcohol totalling 96,532 litres and 81 convictions for offences involving excise licences by comparison with the latest figures.
