WKD, the best-selling RTD brand in Ireland’s bars, clubs and off-licences, is set to get even bigger with the recent launch of two new variants, WKD Green and WKD Orange. These are available in a 275ml bottle and have the same 4% ABV as the core range – WKD Blue, WKD Iron Brew, WKD Red and WKD Purple.

WKD aims to increase the popularity of the brand and open up opportunities for growth even further by offering WKD in two of the most popular RTD styles and by providing a wider choice of pack formats suited to different consumption occasions.

In the Ready To Drink sector orange flavour accounts for some €35 million-worth of sales a year and is showing year-on-year growth rates of 31% while sales of apple flavour are worth €20 million a year and have grown by 69% in the past 12 months according to Debs Carter, WKD’s Marketing Director at SHS Drinks, “However in keeping with the WKD brand style, WKD Orange and WKD Green will refer to the colour of the liquids rather than a specific fruit flavour,” she added.

The launch will be supported through a social media campaign and tailor-made support to create excitement in-outlet and through the provision of free POS materials to stockists.

“POS items will bear a selection of WKD hallmark straplines such as ‘WKD a l’orange. How posh are we?’ and ‘The most greenest drink ever’.
