Scribbles launches new World Cup inspired on-pack promotion
Ahead of this week’s first World Cup match, Brazilian beauty, Moralinda Diaz, who hails from Sao Paulo, launched the latest on-pack promotion from Irish sandwich brand, Scribbles.‘Score with Scribbles’ will see five lucky customers win a plasma TV if they find a ‘golden ball’ in their sandwich packs. Scribbles has created three Brazilian-inspired limited edition sandwiches – Sao Paulo Beef, Piri Piri BBQ Pork and Chimchurri Chicken.
Tullamore D.E.W officially opens new restaurant
Tullamore D.E.W. Visitor Centre has announced the official opening of its new restaurant ‘The Bond’. The restaurant, inspired by Tullamore D.E.W.’s distinct ‘Irish True’ personality and locally sourced Irish produce, combines high end gastro-pub style food with a whiskey infused twist. The restaurant is headed up by French Chef Alex Avel, formerly of the Hilton in Lyon.
Kate Walsh of Herlihy’s Centra in Fermoy crowned International Store Manager of the Year
Kate Walsh, store manager of Herlihy’s Centra in Fermoy, Cork has won the 2014 NACS Insight International Store Manager of the Year Award. Walsh beat off stiff competition from store managers from c-stores across the globe. The award was presented during the 2014 NACS Insight Convenience Summit in London on 4 June. NACS is the international association for convenience retailing.
Dingle is named Top Foodie Town of Ireland 2014
Dingle has been crowned Top Foodie Town of Ireland 2014 from a top 10 shortlist of finalists. The winner was announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards on 9 June. This first year of the annual competition was run by The Restaurants Association of Ireland in conjunction with Admailer from An Post. Dingle was recognised for its food festivals, gourmet trails and farmers’ markets as well as great dining experiences.
1D Love is in the air as Love Hearts turn 60
2014 marks the 60th anniversary of the iconic Love Hearts sweet, which remains as popular as ever with 1.75 billion produced each year. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, Swizzels has released a limited edition bag of the iconic Love Hearts sweets in Ireland with pop group, One Direction messages such as ‘I love Louis’ and ‘Always Niall’.
