The second round of the National Off-Licence of the Year Awards 2010 is just being completed. The final visits to outlets are being made and the assessments completed. The awards now enter their final stage, when the winning outlets will be selected at a blind tasting and awards ceremony on Monday, 11 January 2010, at The Honourable Society of King’s Inns, Dublin 1, where each outlet will be eligible to win one of the following awards:

• National Off-licence of the Year
• Regional Off-licence of the Year
• Wine Specialist of the Year
• Spirit Specialist of the Year
• Beer Specialist of the Year
• Specialist Off-licence Group of the Year
• Food Retailer Off-licence of the Year
• Best First-Time Entrant
• Certificate of Standard, Merit or Excellence

Winners will receive a specially designed award which specifies the category win. Each of the participating outlets has been asked to nominate a representative who will be invited to participate in the final tasting stage and the awards ceremony.

Following on the success of last year’s new-style awards ceremony, 2010 promises to be the networking event of the year for all NOffLA members and their suppliers. After the heady sales of Christmas this will be an opportunity for NOffLA members to kick up their heels, compare notes with fellow members and get a pulse on what to expect from 2010.

It is a very special occasion for the entire NOffLA membership – both outlets and associate member suppliers – to have an opportunity to come together at an event which seeks to recognise and promote excellence within the independent off-trade.
NOffLA would like to take this opportunity to wish all entrants the best of luck.  Sincere thanks must also be recorded to all our sponsors for their support: Hennessy, Smirnoff, Faustino, Budweiser and Wyndham Estate.
