Curry in a hurry
McDonnells Original Curry Sauce is the number one dry curry sauce in Ireland. The secret recipe, with its creamy texture and subtle, spicy tone, dates back to the 1980s, when it was developed in Drogheda using an eclectic range of spices sourced from around the world. McDonnells is still made in Drogheda today, and the team is constantly striving to keep up with consumer needs and wants, in order to deliver new concepts for all types of consumers. McDonnells is an innovative leader in the category, adding €750K to the category in the last four years.
Over the past 12 months, McDonnells has expanded into Slimmers Curry, created for consumers who love the delicious taste, flavour and aroma of McDonnells with just 70 calories per serving. More recently, McDonnells had added a Spice Bag mix to its range – helping consumers to create quick and tasty “fake-away” meals at home.
McDonnells is the only dry curry to support its brand and the category with TV support. In October 2018, the brand will continue this support with the launch of a new 360 through-the-line campaign including TV, outdoor, digital and social media.

A fusion of flavour
