ShelfLife hosted a pivotal conference ‘Stop Crime Against Retailers’ at Fallon & Byrne in Dublin on 23 October.

Approximately 120 trade professionals and retailers gathered to express their frustrations and collectively demand urgent government action in response to the alarming rise in crime threatening retailers across the nation.

Led by ShelfLife in collaboration with the CSNA (Convenience Stores & Newsagents Association), the event underscored the pressing need for stronger legislative protections and improved Garda response times, as criminal activity continues to undermine the retail sector.

Collaborative discussions

Broadcaster and news journalist Bryan Dobson facilitated discussions among retailers, Gardaí, and trade professionals at the conference.

Panelists examined the latest ShelfLife research on crime affecting retailers.

Attendees collaboratively explored solutions to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of individuals working in the convenience, supermarket, off-licence, and forecourt sectors.

Dobson skillfully guided the conversations, providing retailers with a platform to share their experiences and the profound impact of crime on their businesses and employees.
