Hammerson’s director of Retail, Ireland, Simon Betty says the new additions will bring Dundrum Town Centre “closer to the high standard of dining options that we have across our European portfolio”

Seven new catering operators are set to join Dundrum Town Centre, in a move which marks a significant improvement to the shopping centre’s dining offer.

The new offering, all of which will be located on level three, includes Subway; Costa; Chopped, a contemporary salad bar; Poulet Bonne Femme, a rotisserie chicken concept; Kanoodle, a healthy Thai takeaway; Gastro, a French bistro, and; Origins, a European restaurant.

Centre owner Hammerson, a FTSE 100 manager and developer of retail destinations in Europe, said in a press statement that the recent refurbishment of the food court has been instrumental in attracting a broader range of caterers. The recent signings bring in a good mix of cafes, grab-and-go as well as casual family dining operators.

Anchored by Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, M&S and Penneys, Dundrum Town Centre is a gateway for many international brands looking to debut in Ireland. Hollister, H&M, Jamie’s Italian, Starbucks and Hugo Boss have all chosen the centre to establish a presence in the country.

According to Simon Betty, director of Retail, Ireland at Hammerson: “Welcoming seven new food and beverage operators to the centre will considerably enhance its existing offer, bringing it closer to the high standard of dining options that we have across our European portfolio.

“These transactions clearly demonstrate the strong demand for space from food and beverage operators and I fully anticipate that we will continue to attract new and exciting brands to Dundrum, reinforcing its position as Ireland’s leading retail, dining and leisure hub.”

As part of a number of immediate value-add initiatives at Dundrum, Hammerson re-let the food court and has worked with the appointed business, Aramark to bring these food and beverage operators to the centre.

In total, Hammerson’s portfolio of high-quality retail property has a value of around £10 billion and includes 22 prime shopping centres, 18 convenient retail parks and investments in 15 premium outlet villages, through its partnership with Value Retail and the VIA Outlets joint venture. Key investments alongside Dundrum Town Centre, include Bullring, Birmingham, Bicester Village, and Les Terrasses du Port, Marseille.
