Sunday Times Ireland confirms price increase

News Ireland managing director Richard Bogle has written to retailers to inform them of a cover price increase on the Sunday Times, Ireland edition.
2 January 2020
The cover price of the Sunday Times Ireland will increase from €3 to €3.20, effective this Sunday 5 January. The price increase was announced by News Ireland MD Richard Bogie in a letter to retailers.
Bogie’s letter also confirmed that the new margin per copy of the Sunday Times Ireland edition will be 73.4c, representing a 25% increase for retailers. “We forecast this will deliver an extra €655k into retailers’ tills over the next 12 months,” Bogie said.
“With our editorial investment and your support, The Sunday Times remains the number one quality Sunday title in Ireland,” the letter continued. “We will continue to improve and promote the title extensively, so please help us to drive sales by displaying your supplies prominently.”
Barcodes will not be changed, so retailers are reminded to update their systems to reflect the price change ahead of this Sunday’s trading. See below for details.
