Tesco Opens new Cookstown Store, creates 13 new jobs

Tesco Ireland has opened its new store in Cookstown, Dublin 24 creating 13 new jobs.

Located at Cookstown Gateway View, on the Luas Red Line, the new Tesco store will offer an extensive range of fresh Irish produce and will feature local suppliers such as Granby Ltd fand Manning’s bakery.

Speaking about the new Cookstown store, Geoff Byrne, chief operating officer, Tesco Ireland,  said: “It is part of our ongoing investment in stores in urban centres across Dublin and the rest of the country.

“We are happy to be joining this great community, and we are committed to ensuring that our new stores play a big part in these local communities in the future.”

‘Lots of great features’ 

This store will be ‘well equipped with lots of great features including a DRS machine and will also have energy saving features such as fridges with doors to help promote sustainability’.

Cookstown store manager, Paula Early added that the shopping experience is designed to be both convenient and enjoyable.

She highlighted that the team at Tesco Cookstown are “really look forward to welcoming their new customers.”

Supporting local community

Tesco noted that it is a proud supporter of the communities it serves.

To date its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country from GAA clubs to children’s charities.

Three local community groups will benefit from its Community Fund, these include Scoil Mark’s Senior school Springfield, St. Anne’s Primary school Fettercairn and Solas Chriost primary school Belgard.

Scoil Mark’s Senior school Springfield and St. Anne’s Primary school Fettercairn are also beneficiaries of its Stronger Starts Food Collection

The school programme provides free weekly food pack’s containing fresh apples, onions, potatoes, and carrots to families at risk of food insecurity.
